ZENITH Model #HF11F 4-Speed Hi-Fi Suitcase Record Player - MAGNIFICENT!!

Here's an absolutely wonderful Hi-Fi record player! I found this last weekend at the Mansfield outdoor flea market. As most finds, it needed some attention. I've replaced all caps in the amplifier, had the changer cleaned, lubed, adjusted, new needle for the existing cartridge (which was absolutely fine), gave it a pretty good detailing and....voila! This has a magnificent sound! After working on the RCA Orthophonic 4-speed suitcase players and now on this Zenith, I have to say the Zenith stands out far & away from the RCA. It has a better designed changer and a well made amplifier featuring a selenium rectifier & a 12AX7 feeding a pair of 50C5's in push-pull configuration. The chassis is larger than the RCA making it far easier to work on and has a better speaker system with an 8" round in the center and 3" hydrostatic speaker flanking on each side of it vs. the RCA's smaller 6" & 3" speaker. The down side is that the case has to be a little larger than the RCA. Watching the video, you'll understand why I think the changer is a far better design w/fewer complications. As I stated, this player is for sale. It's been 100% restored and works perfectly. I've sold the restored RCA 4-speed Orthophonics for $325 each with happy customers. I'm asking a little less for this at $300 only because I bought it right. I will say that whomever buys this will be most happy with it! It not only works well but more importantly sounds fantastic!! Christmas is coming. Time to ask wifey for an early gift!! I hope you've enjoyed seeing another wonderful piece of 50's history. They just don't make 'em like this anymore & there's NOTHING like the mellow sound of a tube amplifier!!
