The 100 Most Played Albums On '90s Alternative Radio

As always with these Billboard-based videos, this ranking is based on the performance of each album’s charting songs on the Billboard Modern Rock chart, not my personal opinion or any other subjective measure. In other words, this is not a ranking of the “best” albums, the “most influential” albums, or even necessarily the “most popular” albums. It’s a ranking based solely on how well the songs from each album performed on Billboard’s Modern Rock chart during the 1990s. I’m interested to hear which albums surprise you, which albums you think overperformed or underperformed, and which albums you most associate with ’90s alternative rock. This video is based on original research and analysis of the Billboard Modern Rock charts from 1990–1999. Each entry features original background design, animated album art, and custom metadata — all compiled, analyzed, and edited by Feedback and Distortion. 📚 Special thanks to World Radio History for their incredible archive of Billboard magazines: https://www.worldradiohistory.com/Arc... ⏱️ Chapters: 0:00 – 100–91 1:03 – 90–81 2:03 – 80–71 3:03 – 70–61 4:03 – 60–51 5:03 – 50–41
