Perhaps because when I write my own poetry, these are the kinds of words and thoughts that find me. I cannot claim to be anywhere near Wasim Ji's greatness, but this is the world I live in when I write — and that is why composing his ghazals feels so natural and so personal. "Apne Har Har Lafz Ka" is a famous ghazal, and I had always sensed it would be difficult. It was. But the shers are so meaningful, so hard-hitting, that I had to take on the challenge. This ghazal is unlike most as its not about love or longing or loss. It is about courage — about standing firm, facing your challenges, and telling the world: I am unstoppable. Don't even try. These kinds of ghazals demand their own energy. You cannot give them a gentle or melancholic feel. On guitar it came out better than I expected — but the trumpets and piano on Suno AI truly added the icing on the cake. The interludes, intro and outro — all built from my humming — came alive with that brass energy in a way I had not anticipated. It was only after listening back that this became one of my favorites. I hope Wasim Ji himself hears it someday — and approves.
