Vestibular Schwannoma | An Introduction

An introduction to vestibular schwannoma, with emphasis on the cerebellopontine angle (CPA) and the anatomical relationships that shape clinical presentation, imaging, and surgical planning. This session reviews CPA anatomy, CP angle relationships, vestibulocochlear nerve anatomy, facial nerve considerations, tumor origin, clinical features, radiological evaluation, and the basic principles of management and surgery. Designed for neurosurgery residents, trainees, and surgeons, this lecture builds the anatomical and conceptual foundation required before studying operative approaches, internal auditory canal anatomy, tumor dissection, facial nerve preservation, and retrosigmoid surgery in greater detail.
