Teaching myself copperplate calligraphy — Session 4: the letter T

Copperplate calligraphy is my arch nemesis, and I've decided to learn it anyway — badly, slowly, and out loud. This isn't a tutorial channel. I'm not here to teach you calligraphy — I'm a beginner teaching myself, one letter at a time, and this is just me sharing that process: the practice, not polished results. If most of the calligraphy content you've seen is from people who've already mastered it, this is the other side — the smudges, the wobbly strokes, the slow figuring-it-out. This session, T brought its own flavour of struggle — different for upper and lowercase. Uppercase, it was all about getting the angle of the descending stem right. Lowercase turned out to be less about the shape and more about how I was holding the pen itself, which is a harder thing to fix mid-session. I got caught up in the practice and didn't realise I was moving out of the camera's focus (oopsie!) — leaving it in, because missing the camera entirely felt very on-brand for this channel. Calming background music runs through it as usual, so feel free to just put it on and let it run if that's more your speed. This channel started after a rough year, as a way to begin something again.
