✨ In This Tutorial
In this video, I’ll show you step by step how to make a gorgeous handmade resin ring without a mold. I used two thin metal rings, green glitter, UV resin, turquoise stones, gold leaf, and rhinestone trim to create a sparkling ring with a beautiful raised turquoise centerpiece.
Materials You’ll Need:
2 thin metal rings
UV resin
A brush or another suitable support for the rings
Adhesive tape
Glitter in your favorite color
Turquoise stones (natural or artificial) or your favorite small stones
An empty pill blister pack
Gold leaf (optional)
Silver rhinestone trim
UV lamp
Sandpaper
Toothpick
Clear plastic sheet
Hot glue gun (optional, to keep the centerpiece in place)
Step-by-Step Instructions
Cover the brush with adhesive tape to create a smooth surface and help release the resin easily.
Place the two metal rings on the brush and apply a thin layer of UV resin to cover the metal. Cure under a UV lamp according to the resin manufacturer's instructions.
Apply another thin layer of UV resin and sprinkle your favorite glitter between the rings. Cure completely.
Add a final clear layer of UV resin for a glossy finish. Remove the ring and sand any rough or raised edges.
Take an empty pill blister pack and add a thin layer of UV resin. Partially cure it until it becomes slightly gel-like.
Add small turquoise stones and UV resin in thin layers. Add gold leaf between the layers if desired, curing each layer thoroughly.
Add a final layer of UV resin and make sure the entire piece is fully cured, including the underside.
Carefully remove the raised resin centerpiece from the pill blister pack.
Cut the silver rhinestone trim to fit around the centerpiece. Lightly sand the edges of the resin piece to help the trim adhere.
Apply a very thin layer of UV resin around the edge and position the rhinestone trim. Use a clear plastic sheet underneath to help with removal, and a small amount of hot glue if needed to keep the trim in place.
Attach the finished turquoise centerpiece to the ring using UV resin. Cure thoroughly according to the manufacturer's instructions, including around the edges and underside.
💡 Creative Tip: You can use different glitter colors, stones, and metal ring sizes to create your own unique handmade resin jewelry. If your rings are not adjustable, choose the correct size before starting. You can also experiment with metal wire to create your own ring bands.
⚠️ Resin Safety: Wear suitable gloves, work in a well-ventilated area, avoid skin and eye contact, and follow the resin manufacturer's safety and curing instructions.
