In November of 1887, Esther Lane carried her wedding dress into Haverford's Mercantile to sell it. It had never been worn to a wedding. Three years before, her groom had ridden out of Silver Fork before dawn and left her standing at the altar in it until the candles burned down.
She needed thirty dollars so her little sister could see. But the storekeeper wouldn't touch it, and the banker's wife told the whole store the dress was cursed, and that maybe that was why no man had looked at her since.
Then the silent mountain man from Lone Pine Canyon turned around by the stove and said six words: "My bride never came either."
He had built a house for a mail-order bride who never stepped off the stage. Inside it, under a sheet, stood a rosewood piano nobody had ever played. And hidden in the piano bench was a letter that would turn both their lives upside down.
🕯️ A clean, faith-filled Christmas Western about a jilted bride, a lonely mountain man, a piano brought back to life one note at a time, four hundred and twelve lace roses, and the God who restores the years the locust has eaten.
