Are software developer jobs in India declining like in the United States? Why is finding a job becoming harder, even for experienced professionals?
As a software engineer in India, I've been searching for a job for the past few months and have received only 2–3 calls from companies.
In this video, I share my experience and discuss IT layoffs, fewer job opportunities, AI and the future of software engineering, and growing concerns about job security in India and the US.
But this isn't just about IT. It's about job seekers, fresh graduates, experienced professionals, and anyone wondering about their future in an uncertain job market.
Join me in my everyday life, from an early morning walk and homemade moong dal chilla for breakfast to a relaxing evening cup of tea.
🌍 What's happening in your country? Are jobs becoming harder to find, and do you feel secure in your current career? Share your experience in the comments. I'd love to hear from people in India, the US, the UK, Canada, and around the world.

On Surbhi in India, I share my real-life experiences as a software engineer in India, my journey of starting over after losing my job, and the challenges of finding work in today's changing job market.
Beyond my personal story, I also talk about job security, AI, and the questions many of us have about our careers and future.
Along the way, you'll get a glimpse of my everyday life in India, from morning walks and homemade meals to quiet moments of reflection. ❤️
I’m inspired by creators like Ting – Daily Life in China and Zaza in China, who beautifully capture ordinary life, quiet moments, and honest thoughts. I wanted to share my own version of that — real, everyday life in India, especially when life doesn’t go as planned. This isn’t a comparison between countries, just my little corner of the world. ❤️

Breakfast Recipe: Moong Dal Chilla (savory Indian lentil pancakes, lentil crepes, or savory mung bean pancakes)
Method: Soak the moong dal for 3–4 hours, then drain the water. Blend the dal with green chili, ginger, salt, and a little water to make a smooth batter. Heat a nonstick pan and lightly grease it with oil or ghee. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan and spread it into a thin circle. Cook on medium heat until the bottom turns golden, then flip and cook the other side. Serve hot with green chutney or tomato ketchup.
For Tea: Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan. Add tea leaves, sugar, crushed ginger, and cardamom. Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes. Add milk and bring the tea to a gentle boil. Simmer for another 2–3 minutes, until the color and aroma are just right. Strain into a cup and enjoy your hot, homemade Indian chai!
