Mozart finished it in Vienna in 1787, in the middle of writing Don Giovanni. It is a serenade — music written to be played outdoors, at night, for people who were mostly talking through it. Light, elegant, in a major key, and so relentlessly that it has ended up in every lift and every phone queue on earth. Nobody knows who it was for. There is no record of a commission, no account of a performance. Mozart listed it in his own catalogue and then it disappeared for over fifty years, published only in 1827, long after he was dead. Its name means "a little night music." That is what we worked with. The session opens with the serenade almost exactly as Mozart left it, bright and unbothered. Then the light starts going out — the harmony slips into minor, the tempo drags, the electronic pulse rises underneath until it is carrying more than the strings are. By the final tracks the melody is still there, note for note, but you would not recognize it as the same piece. A little night music, taken all the way to the end of the night. Composed with AI tools under our own creative direction. The melody is Mozart's; the descent, the pacing and the balance between strings and pulse were ours. ⏱️ TRACKLIST 0:00 The Serenade — as Mozart wrote it 3:00 The Serenade — Vienna, open air 5:17 First Shadow — something behind the charm 8:38 First Shadow — the harmony slips 11:58 The Mode Turns — the same melody, minor 15:49 The Mode Turns — elegance into grief 19:19 Night Closes In — the tempo drags 22:51 Night Closes In — low and brooding 26:17 The Last Dance — the theme at full force 29:42 The Last Dance — commanding and dark 32:45 After the Night — barely recognizable 36:18 After the Night — the last trace #mozart #einekleinenachtmusik #classicaltechno #cellomusic #darkacademia #classicalmusic ───────────────────────────── 🎧 BEST FOR ───────────────────────────── · Long focus sessions that build rather than stay flat · Writing something that turns dark halfway through · Late nights that started as something else · Anyone who thinks they are tired of this melody ───────────────────────────── 🎻 ABOUT THE PIECE ───────────────────────────── Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart — Serenade No. 13 in G major, K. 525 (1787) Mozart's catalogue lists five movements; only four survive.
