For almost two centuries, these suites were treated as practice exercises. Then, in 1890, a 13-year-old cellist named Pablo Casals found an old copy in a second-hand music shop in Barcelona. He studied them for more than a decade before he dared to play them in public. Today, the opening Prelude is one of the most recognized pieces ever written for the cello. We kept all six movements, two tracks for each, and rearranged them into a night of their own. It opens mid-run with the Courante, slows into the Sarabande, and moves through the Allemande and the Menuets. The Prelude comes late in the session, when those rolling arpeggios finally let the techno pulse take over. The Gigue closes everything. The cello leads from the first note to the last, just as Bach wrote it: for one instrument, alone. Composed with AI tools under our own creative direction.
