The build is done. Now it’s time to bring the Jagdpanther to life. In this episode, I’m taking the Takom 1/35 Jagdpanther through the full painting process — from primer and the base coat, through highlights, camouflage, chipping, decals, tracks and the final protective layers. The goal isn’t simply to put some colour on the model. I want to build depth into the paintwork while keeping the finish believable, leaving enough variation for the weathering to come later. There are plenty of small decisions along the way: how much to lighten the base colour, where to place the highlights, how hard to push the camouflage, and how much chipping is enough before it starts taking over the paintwork. And, as always, I’m learning as I go. I’m not here to present a perfect recipe or pretend every decision is the only correct one. This is the process I’m using, the things I’m trying, and the results I’m getting. Because for me, scale modelling is as much about figuring things out as it is about the finished model. Build. Learn. Improve. Together. Pull up a chair at the bench.
