In late 2007, just when things seemed darkest for 3D Mario games, with New Super Mario Bros. snapping at its heels and selling like hotcakes, Nintendo unveiled perhaps their most experimental Mario game ever, the planet-hopping space opera Super Mario Galaxy. Then, three years later, they released a sequel to Galaxy called Galaxy 2. You may have noticed that the first paragraph of this video description is basically a rehash of the one from my video on Galaxy. That's not an accident.
