My Street Photos Didn't Sell – Then I Did THIS

Selling street photographs can be a tough sell. People love to look at shots of daily life captured on the streets, especially in coffee table books, but would they hang street photographs in their home? I have displayed and sold my artwork in many galleries but not my street photos. Galleries generally offer limited wall space to artists and of course it is in their interest to make sales. Simply put, artwork sells and street photography, though fascinating to look at doesn’t sell as well. So I tried an experiment at a gallery that sold my artwork. I took several of my street photos and manipulated them, adding extra details and text. Totally against the rules of true street photography but remarkably I managed to generate sales.
