Welcome to another 1/72 scale inbox review — and this time we've got a BIG one! After looking at several older P-51 Mustang kits from the likes of Tamiya, Hasegawa and Italeri, one name has repeatedly appeared in the comments...'Eduard'. Many of you have described Eduard's new-generation 1/72 Mustang family as the king of P-51 kits in this scale, so I thought it was finally time to find out what all the fuss is about! Today we're taking an in-depth look at the Eduard 1/72 North American P-51D-5 Mustang ProfiPACK, released in 2024. Join me as I take a close look at: 🔹 The history and development of Eduard's 1/72 Mustang tooling 🔹 Box art, packaging and presentation 🔹 Instruction booklet and layout 🔹 A brief look at the early P-51D-5 and its distinctive filletless tail 🔹 Assembly sequence and kit engineering 🔹 The included marking options and colour guides 🔹 Surface detail and moulding quality 🔹 Cockpit and interior components 🔹 Wings, fuselage and exterior details 🔹 Landing gear, weapons and smaller components 🔹 The huge number of optional parts included 🔹 ProfiPACK photo-etched details 🔹 Pre-cut masking set 🔹 Decals, stencils and print quality 🔹 Australian pricing and overall value 🔹 How it compares with some of the other 1/72 Mustangs I've reviewed and built 🔹 My inital impressions The P-51D-5 represents an interesting early stage in the development of the famous D-model Mustang, before the now-familiar dorsal fin fillet became standard. Eduard gives us plenty of options to explore here, and the sheer amount of incredibly fine detail packed into these little 1/72 parts genuinely surprised me! I've already reviewed or built examples from Tamiya, Hasegawa and Italeri, including my recent Tamiya F-51D build in No. 77 Squadron RAAF Korean War markings which you can view in this playlist:    • Mustang Review Series   👉 Have you built Eduard's 1/72 Mustang? 👉 Do you think this is currently the best P-51 available in the scale? 👉 Or would you rather build something simpler and cheaper? 👉 Which Mustang should I tackle next?
