Hashem turns darkness into light, strengthens David for the challenges before him, steadies his footsteps, and becomes a shield to all who take refuge in Him. 🎵 *Psalm 18 | Tehillim 18 | תהילים י״ח* *Part 2 of 3* *Hebrew & English Lyrics:* ♪ וַיּוֹצִיאֵנִי לַמֶּרְחָב He brought me out into a spacious place. ♪ יְחַלְּצֵנִי כִּי חָפֵץ בִּי He rescued me because He delights in me. ♪ יִגְמְלֵנִי הַשֵּׁם כְּצִדְקִי Hashem rewarded me according to my righteousness. ♪ כְּבֹר יָדַי יָשִׁיב לִי According to the cleanness of my hands. ♪ כִּי שָׁמַרְתִּי דַּרְכֵי הַשֵּׁם For I have kept the ways of Hashem. ♪ וְלֹא רָשַׁעְתִּי מֵאֱלֹהָי I have not turned away from my God. ♪ כִּי כׇל מִשְׁפָּטָיו לְנֶגְדִּי All His judgments remain before me. ♪ וְחֻקֹּתָיו לֹא אָסִיר מֶנִּי His statutes I have not cast aside. ♪ וָאֱהִי תָמִים עִמּוֹ I have walked blamelessly with Him. ♪ וָאֶשְׁתַּמֵּר מֵעֲוֺנִי I guarded myself from my sin. ♪ וַיָּשֶׁב הַשֵּׁם לִי כְּצִדְקִי Hashem rewarded me according to my righteousness. ♪ כְּבֹר יָדַי לְנֶגֶד עֵינָיו According to the purity of my hands. ♪ עִם חָסִיד תִּתְחַסָּד With the faithful, You show faithfulness. ♪ עִם גְּבַר תָּמִים תִּתַּמָּם With the blameless, You deal blamelessly. ♪ עִם נָבָר תִּתְבָּרָר With the pure, You reveal Your purity. ♪ וְעִם עִקֵּשׁ תִּתְפַּתָּל With the crooked, You oppose their ways. ♪ כִּי אַתָּה עַם עָנִי תוֹשִׁיעַ You save the humble and afflicted. ♪ וְעֵינַיִם רָמוֹת תַּשְׁפִּיל But proud eyes You bring low. ♪ כִּי אַתָּה תָּאִיר נֵרִי You light my lamp, Hashem. ♪ וַהַשֵּׁם אֱלֹהַי יַגִּיהַּ חָשְׁכִּי Hashem my God turns my darkness into light. ♪ כִּי בְךָ אָרוּץ גְּדוּד With You I can charge against an army. ♪ וּבֵאלֹהַי אֲדַלֶּג שׁוּר With my God I can leap over a wall. ♪ הָאֵל תָּמִים דַּרְכּוֹ God's way is perfect. ♪ אִמְרַת הַשֵּׁם צְרוּפָה The word of Hashem is flawless. ♪ מָגֵן הוּא לְכׇל הַחֹסִים בּוֹ He is a shield to everyone who takes refuge in Him. ♪ כִּי מִי אֱלוֹהַּ מִבַּלְעֲדֵי הַשֵּׁם For who is God besides Hashem? ♪ וּמִי צוּר זוּלָתִי אֱלֹהֵינוּ Who is the Rock except our God? ♪ הָאֵל הַמְאַזְּרֵנִי חָיִל God clothes me with strength. ♪ וַיִּתֵּן תָּמִים דַּרְכִּי He makes my way perfect. ♪ מְשַׁוֶּה רַגְלַי כָּאַיָּלוֹת He makes my feet like the deer. ♪ וְעַל בָּמוֹתַי יַעֲמִידֵנִי He sets me secure upon the heights. ♪ מְלַמֵּד יָדַי לַמִּלְחָמָה He trains my hands for battle. ♪ וְנִחֲתָה קֶשֶׁת נְחוּשָׁה זְרֹעֹתָי My arms can bend a bow of bronze. ♪ וַתִּתֶּן לִי מָגֵן יִשְׁעֶךָ You have given me the shield of Your salvation. ♪ וִימִינְךָ תִסְעָדֵנִי Your right hand upholds me. ♪ וְעַנְוַתְךָ תַרְבֵּנִי Your gentleness has made me great. ♪ תַּרְחִיב צַעֲדִי תַחְתָּי You broaden the path beneath my feet. ♪ וְלֹא מָעֲדוּ קַרְסֻלָּי My feet have never slipped. ♪ אֶרְדּוֹף אוֹיְבַי וְאַשִּׂיגֵם I pursued my enemies and overtook them. ♪ וְלֹא אָשׁוּב עַד כַּלּוֹתָם I did not turn back until they were overcome. ♪ אֶמְחָצֵם וְלֹא יוּכְלוּ קוּם I struck them down; they could not rise again. ♪ יִפְּלוּ תַּחַת רַגְלָי They fell beneath my feet. ♪ וַתְּאַזְּרֵנִי חַיִל לַמִּלְחָמָה You armed me with strength for battle. ♪ תַּכְרִיעַ קָמַי תַּחְתָּי You subdued those who rose against me. ♪ וְאֹיְבַי נָתַתָּה לִּי עֹרֶף You made my enemies turn their backs. ♪ וּמְשַׂנְאַי אַצְמִיתֵם Those who hated me were destroyed. ♪ יְשַׁוְּעוּ וְאֵין מוֹשִׁיעַ They cried out, but there was no one to save. ♪ עַל הַשֵּׁם וְלֹא עָנָם They called to Hashem, but He did not answer them. ♪ וְאֶשְׁחָקֵם כַּעֲפַר עַל פְּנֵי רוּחַ I scattered them like dust before the wind. ♪ כְּטִיט חוּצו
