We had our normal workweek to get through, so we put in some extra hours, waited for the weather to break, and hoped to get a head start on a long weekend. Once the rain finally moved out, it was time to see a little more of the Homer Spit and get back on the road. And that’s when this part of our Alaska journey started becoming anything but slow. The farther we drove, the more reasons we found to pull over, grab the cameras, and simply take it all in. And when one road looked like it might lead us to an even better view… well, it also brought back a few memories from a road we probably shouldn’t have driven last year. Sometimes the best part of an Alaska road trip isn’t where you’re headed.
