December 1883, on the Devon coast. Margaret Fenwick climbs the 127 steps of St. Bride's Lighthouse to tend the light through a winter storm — and, in a gap behind the lens housing, finds an old journal: the private journal of Captain E. Vane of HMS Calliope, begun in 1851, whose writer was "not what I seemed." By spring, word of that storm has reached the newspapers, and a young woman from Salcombe named Clara walks up the cliff path to ask about the assistant keeper's post. No music. Narrated with a calm synthetic voice. Also on Spotify, Amazon Music, Deezer and iHeartRadio — links on the channel page. #SleepStory #Lighthouse #DevonCoast
