An Abused Infant Monkey Fights For His Life | Monkey Life Season 8 Episode 6

Dr. Allison Cronin and the veterinary team are pushed to their limits when the RSPCA arrives with Leo, a 4-month-old marmoset suffering from a fractured femur and severe nutritional bone disease caused by the cruel exotic pet trade. Because his bones are so fragile, keepers are forced to lock him in a tiny cage just to keep him alive. At the capuchin house, alpha male Winslow needs emergency surgery after sustaining a deep gash to his neck during a brutal overnight fight. However, the keepers are sent back to square one when Winslow's troop decides to groom his wound and rip all his stitches out! Meanwhile, the primate care team fills the chimpanzee pond with yogurt-stuffed plastic ducks to see if the apes will overcome their natural fear of water. Over at the orangutan nursery, 9-year-old Jolie and her adoptive mom A-Mei transition to an adult enclosure, but the move stalls when Jolie gets a nasty shock from the electric fence! Monkey Life follows the work of Monkey World Ape Rescue Centre with nail-biting rescue and rehabilitation stories. Whilst there are primates in need, Dr. Alison Cronin, Jeremy Keeling and their dedicated team continue to fight the illegal trade in primates and give those rescued a safe haven for the rest of their lives.
