VOICES OF THE OLD GODS — Ek em Þórr (I Am Thor)

VOICES OF THE OLD GODS — EK EM ÞÓRR (I Am Thor) Enter the stormy realm of Thor, the thunder god, protector of Midgard and wielder of Mjölnir. Son of Odin and Jörð, Thor is the mighty defender of gods and mankind against the giants. With his hammer Mjölnir, his strength-belt Megingjörð, his iron gloves Járngreipr, and his chariot drawn by Tanngrisnir and Tanngnjóstr, the sound of his arrival is heard across the heavens as thunder. Through ancient Old Norse chants, powerful male vocals, heavy ritual drums, and dark Nordic atmosphere, Thor tells his own story. A story of thunder, strength, protection, anger, and the hammer that even the giants fear. When Thor awakens and discovers that Mjölnir is gone, his anger shakes the heavens. The giant Þrymr has hidden the hammer deep beneath the earth and demands Freyja as his bride in return. Freyja refuses. With a plan devised by Heimdallr, Thor disguises himself as the bride while Loki accompanies him into the hall of Þrymr. Then Mjölnir is brought before him. The hammer returns to Thor's hands. And Þrymr finally discovers who stands before him. "I am Thor. Mjölnir in my hand." ⚡ VOICES OF THE OLD GODS EK EM ÞÓRR is the third chapter of a musical journey through Norse mythology.
