Why Do Some Homebrewers HATE Beer Kits?

I recently put out a video showing how I improve a basic Coopers beer kit — and most of the response was great. But of course, a few comments showed up busting on kits... And it got me thinking… Why do some homebrewers look down on beer-kit brewing? I’ve brewed beer kits, extract, partial mash, all-grain, and commercially. I love all-grain brewing and the control it gives you, but that doesn’t mean somebody brewing a can of goo in a plastic fermenter isn’t a “real” homebrewer. In this video, I talk about: 🍺 Why beer kits still have a place in homebrewing 🍺 What kits are actually good at 🍺 Why sanitation and fermentation matter more than people realize 🍺 Some of the ways viewers said they improve their own kits 🍺 Using different yeast, malt extract, hops and batch sizes 🍺 Why kit brewing can be a great stepping stone into more advanced brewing 🍺 And why I think homebrewing snobbery can do more harm than good One of my favourite things about the comments on the Coopers video was seeing brewers share all the different ways they modify their kits. Some use DME or LME. Some brew smaller volumes. Some change the yeast. Some dry hop. Others practically turn the kit into a partial-mash beer. And that’s really the point. Maybe what makes you a real homebrewer isn’t how complicated your process is. Maybe it’s the fact that you’re making your own damn beer. So I want to hear from you: Do you consider beer-kit brewing real homebrewing? And if you brew kits, what do YOU do to make them better? If you think kits are garbage, tell me why. 😂🍺 👇 Watch my Coopers beer-kit upgrade video here:    • How to Make a Coopers Beer Kit Taste WAY B...   🍺 New to homebrewing?
