How can we make Saltram's historic house, gardens and wider parkland easier for more people to explore and enjoy?
Join Dr Mark Lane as he visits the National Trust's Saltram in Plymouth to discover how the Future Saltram: Access to Nature and Heritage project is helping to open up more of this place.
From new multi-use trails and 32 hectares of additional parkland at Saltram East, to improvements to the historic house and visitor facilities, Future Saltram is creating more opportunities for people to enjoy nature, heritage and green space.
Mark meets the people behind the project, explores some of the barriers visitors currently face and discovers how planned improvements will help more people experience Saltram with greater ease and independence.
The changes include a proposed lift to the first floor of the house, the opening of rooms that have never before been accessible to the public, and new facilities designed to support visitors with different access needs.
It's all part of an ambitious project to make more of Saltram accessible, welcoming and enjoyable for Plymouth's communities, now and for generations to come.
This project has been made possible thanks to National Lottery players and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
