Happy August, beautiful souls I have another episode for you of my backpacking series: The Evolution of My Boots. This is not a recipe for finding your new perfect hiking footwear. I'm not going to tell you to go and buy trail runners, nor am I going to tell you that you must stick with hiking boots. The information about the different types of hiking boots covers only the main categories. There are many more types of mountaineering, walking and trekking footwear, so this is simply a brief overview of what I've learned and what I've personally gone through. All the information comes from my own online research. I'm not an expert — I'm simply sharing my experience. I have no sponsorships either. This is just my humble experience with all the boots I've gone through during my six-year backpacking journey, mostly on a budget. All these boots been tested in serious conditions and in my notes I use 20 hiking days as I'm not wearing hiking boots all year around.
