Son Accused of Killing Mom Who Rescued 80+ Cats

Ryan Hanafin, 22, pleaded not guilty Thursday to first-degree murder in the death of his mother, Andria Hanafin. Prosecutors allege he shot her inside their Massachusetts home after an argument over the family’s cats and his father’s demand that he get a job. Investigators say Hanafin later joked to a friend on Snapchat about killing his mother. Authorities found more than 80 cats inside the home after her death.
