Hey everyone, welcome back to the channel! 🙏 In this video, we’re taking a walk together through the stunning interior and breathtaking architecture of Vank Cathedral in Isfahan. 📜 A Bit of History: Vank Cathedral is one of the oldest and most significant Armenian churches in Iran. It was built during the reign of Shah Abbas I of the Safavid dynasty, in the 17th century (roughly between 1606 and 1655), by Armenians who had been relocated to Isfahan from the Jolfa region in Nakhchivan. The building is a beautiful blend of Persian-Islamic architecture and Armenian art — its exterior is simple and in the style of Islamic buildings, while the interior is filled with murals, tilework, and depictions of biblical stories that are truly a sight to see. 📍 Location: This historic building is located in the New Julfa district of Isfahan (the city’s Armenian quarter), one of the oldest and most popular neighborhoods for tourists in Isfahan.
