Jimmy Castor remembers his first recording session in 1956, learning from Frankie Lymon, and traveling alongside some of rock ’n’ roll’s greatest artists. In this two-minute convo with Shawn Hanshaw on the phone with Jimmy Castor. He recalls recording with the Juniors, working with Teacho Wiltshire, Buddy Lucas, and Panama Francis, and getting his start with help from Buchanan & Goodman. He remembers hearing Alan Freed announce his record and being on the road with artists including Fats Domino, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, the Coasters, and the Platters. Behind those names is a young artist learning, finding his voice, and experiencing moments that would stay with him for a lifetime.
