Great (Space Harrier IIGS) — ??? / FTA, 1990

0:00 The Great Commandment — Camouflage, 1983/'87 Fucking classic. If you listen to the original song, you'll realize that this one doesn't sound ANYTHING like it, only in some parts. Heck, even the song key was changed here. From D minor on the original to G minor here. I guess they're quite close, but still. Not to mention this one also has that pitch issue I talked about earlier··· So yeah, this is the intro screen theme for a Space Harrier port for the IIGS, made by FTA again. Except that this game isn't even complete. Because their goal was to show that the IIGS actually can handle whatever special this game had, so they didn't bother developing it any further. Funnily enough, on their website you can (?) still see that they lowkey regret not having finished the game. I've never played Space Harrier myself, but it'd sure be nice to have one other fun thing to play. Another funny thing about this tune is that, it's actually missing ONE note at the very beginning here. That's because I removed it. Because that's how the song is actually played on the IIGS! Just a single note being omitted, my guess is that the song itself somehow starts faster than the audio system can fully load. Just one more quirk from the IIGS for you. There also is the main theme of this game, which's really what makes the entire soundtrack of it. And it's yet another Blue Monday cover. I may or may not post it, as the S3M conversion provided in FTA's website is quite wrong compared to how it plays on the IIGS (mostly missing samples), and, because I'm not very fond of it, I simply may not bother. Now, uh··· about the nostalgia here. If you've read the description of my MOUSS62 video, you might remember me talking about that girl I met on Discord during the height of the pandemic. Well, this is one other tune that reminds me of the time she was my crush. I dunno how, but back when I listened to this song for the first time, it had quite a bit of a romantic undertone for me. I guess me wanting her so much made my brain interpret things in very··· interesting ways. And this being something that'd never happen ever since (yeah no, I'm not joking). Love/lust really does stuff to you. I hate being a teenager and having to go through that, because I never have someone to at least have some fun for a moment.
