What is going on here? And I'm not talking about Drake. That's a whole nother bucket of doo. After spending some time in Quebec City and Montreal where I mostly heard and attempted to use French, It was certainly easy to transition back to English after arriving in Toronto. I was wrong. Some words are discernible, however mostly, from what I understood, I everyone thinks I am part of their family and that there is something called a "chat" that was often referenced. They must be wearing those META glasses and doing the HUD thing. Respect. As for food. Just. No. If you're going to try poutine, get it while more east. It reminded me a lot of Seattle's food scene in that the international restaurants are limited by their environment and cannot get the proper ingredients to make things authentic, so owners and chefs turned to fusion. We all know and can agree that fusion food is the lowest of the low in terms of food quality and cultural appeal. Chinatown seemed to be the only saving grace, 1 because it's large enough where you can find some restaurants with only asians inside (that's a good thing) and 2 because Kensington Market is near by and that's where you want to go once the sun goes down. The 2 things I wasn't able to enjoy were sports games. A Blue Jays or Maple Leafs game would have been fun. Toronto is a great sports city in that regard. Sightseeing from the top of CN Tower for the view, and more time spent on the waterfront. There were lots of festival looking things happening that I just wasn't able to get to and enjoy. Overall, you should go. 1 week. That's all you need.
