Take everything you love about a homemade Sloppy Joe and combine it with a buttery grilled cheese sandwich, and you get this Million Dollar Sloppy Joe Grilled Cheese! Crispy golden bread, rich homemade sloppy joe filling, layers of melted cheddar and mozzarella, and an epic cheese pull make this one unforgettable comfort-food sandwich. Perfect for lunch, dinner, game day, or whenever you're craving something cheesy, hearty, and incredibly satisfying. Cooking With Tammy Seasoning: https://cookingwithtammy.shop/ Ingredients Sloppy Joe Filling 1 lb ground beef (80/20 or 85/15) 1 tbsp olive oil ½ medium onion, finely diced 1 small green bell pepper, or 1/2 green + 1/2 red finely diced 3 cloves garlic, minced Seasonings 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp onion powder 1 tsp smoked paprika 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce 1 tsp yellow mustard 1 tsp brown sugar ½ tsp chili powder 1 tsp beef bouillon powder Salt and black pepper, to taste Sauce ¾ cup ketchup 2 tbsp tomato paste 2 tbsp barbecue sauce 2 tbsp water (if needed) Sandwich 8 slices thick-cut brioche bread (or thick country white bread) 8 slices sharp cheddar cheese or shredded cheese of choice 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese 4 tbsp softened butter Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish Instructions Step 1 Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the oil and butter. Cook the onions and bell peppers for about 4–5 minutes until softened. Add the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds. Step 2 Add the ground beef. Break it apart and cook until nicely browned. Drain excess grease if necessary. Step 3 Add: Garlic powder Onion powder Smoked paprika Worcestershire sauce Yellow mustard Brown sugar Chili powder Beef bouillon Mix well. Step 4 Stir in: Ketchup Tomato paste Barbecue sauce Simmer for 5–7 minutes until thick and rich. If needed, add a splash of water to loosen the sauce. Remove from heat. Step 5 Butter one side of each slice of bread. Flip them over. Layer: Cheese Generous scoop of sloppy joe filling Mozzarella/cheese Top with the second slice of bread, butter side facing out, if buttering only 1 side. Step 6 Cook over medium-low heat for 3–4 minutes per side. Cover the pan during the first few minutes to help the cheese melt. Flip carefully. Cook until both sides are deep golden brown and crispy. Step 7 Let the sandwich rest for 2 minutes. Slice diagonally. Serve immediately while the cheese is hot and stretchy.
