Hello to you. It's me, Ebenezer Scrooge, and I'm going to tell you my whole story myself, in my own voice, from the fog of that Christmas Eve to the morning I woke up laughing. Welcome to Claymation Storytime, the place where the great old stories are told by the people who lived through them. What you get here is a proper spoken retelling. Not a lecture, not a lesson, not a school essay read out in a dull voice, but the story itself, as it happened to me, with the cold and the fear and the shame and the joy all left in. You'll stand with me in my counting house when my nephew comes in glowing with frost. You'll hear the bells ring through my empty rooms and see my old partner drag his dreadful chain over the threshold. You'll travel back to my school with the first Spirit, dance at old Fezziwig's ball, sit at Bob Cratchit's table with Tiny Tim beside the fire, and stand in the churchyard reading a name on a neglected stone. I tell you plainly how each of those moments felt, because I was there. Claymation Storytime exists because so many of us carry a quiet little regret about books. These are the books people wish they had read at school, the famous ones everybody mentions and rather fewer people have actually finished. Here you can finally meet them properly, comfortably, while you walk the dog, cook the dinner, drive home or drift off to sleep. Every recording on the channel is one of our summaries of royalty-free classic books, retold faithfully from the original text and shaped into an easy, flowing story you can simply enjoy. Nothing is invented and nothing important is skipped. The aim is that by the end you understand the story well enough to sound well-read: you'll know who the characters are, what happens to them, what it all means, and you'll be able to talk about it with confidence at a dinner table or a pub quiz without ever bluffing. The main story here runs about seventy-five minutes, depending on the length of the book, so you can take it in one sitting or a few. On Claymation Storytime the narration is always first-person, always from inside the tale, because a story told by someone who felt it lands differently from a story described from the outside. You don't get a plot outline. You get a confession, a memory, a life. If you have ever nodded along while friends discussed a classic and hoped nobody would ask you a question, you'll understand why this channel exists. Once again: these are the books people wish they had read at school, and here they are waiting for you, warm and welcoming and entirely free of homework. There is no test at the end, only a good story well told. So settle in. Let the fog roll down the narrow court, let the candles smear the brown air, and let an old miser who learned better than his old self tell you exactly how he was frightened into becoming a decent man. I promise you I will not spare myself in the telling, and I promise the ending is a happy one, because I kept my word to the Spirits and I keep my word to you. More classics are coming, told the same way, one lived life at a time. Follow along and build up a shelf of great stories in your ears rather than on a dusty table. That is the whole idea behind Claymation Storytime, and I'm glad you found us.
