"The value of an experience is not entirely determined at the time you experience it but the feeling it leaves you with in the present as you carry it in time." — Brent Sprenger
8/11/26 I used to spend a lot of time asking myself whether I was being efficient with my time, which in retrospect was an incomplete evaluation. Better to ask: Is this productive, and/or is this worth experiencing?
In this episode of Run It Through, I explore the relationship between uncertainty, experience, and our desire to find meaning in things. Not everything we do needs an immediate purpose, and sometimes understanding the value of an experience takes time.
What questions need answers now, and what questions can you live inside for a while?
Are we too quick to demand answers from questions we haven't spent enough time living with?
Our desire to find meaning can sometimes lead us to draw conclusions prematurely, assigning lessons to experiences before we've had the opportunity to fully understand them.
Perhaps the challenge is recognizing when we're giving ourselves the time to understand something, when we're rushing toward a conclusion, and when we're simply putting off an answer we already know we need to confront.
