FilmKit GM Ruth Wanjiru | Kenya Film Commission x GIZ Women in Film Entrepreneurship Hub 2025

From August 2025 to March 2026 the Kenya Film Commission implemented the Women in Film Entrepreneurship Hub with the support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development in German (BMZ) through the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) Project for "Strengthening the Film Industry in Selected Countries in Africa". The overall objective of the project was to increase the number of women in above-the-line jobs, value chain roles, and businesses in Kenya's film industry by incubating 10 women-led enterprises through targeted training, seed funding for five of the 10 businesses, and sustained mentorship. Anchored within Kenya Vision 2030, the Kenya Film Policy and institutionally owned by the Kenya Film Commission, the Hub Is designed as a national film development investment.
