A 16-year-old boy calls 911 in the middle of the night, claiming someone has shot his parents while they slept. But when investigators arrive, they discover something troubling: the security alarm is still armed, there's no sign of forced entry, and the teenager's account begins raising serious questions.
On July 29, 2016, former NFL player *Antonio Armstrong Sr.* and his wife, **Dawn Armstrong**, were fatally shot inside their Houston, Texas, home.
Their son, **Antonio “AJ” Armstrong Jr.**, initially reported hearing gunshots before later describing a masked intruder. But investigators began examining evidence that would eventually turn the couple's own son into the prime suspect.
What followed was an extraordinary legal battle spanning nearly a decade, including **two mistrials, a third trial that ended in a murder conviction, and a life sentence**.
In October 2026, a Texas judge denied AJ Armstrong's request for a new trial. Despite his conviction, AJ continues to maintain his innocence.
In this episode of **State Line Crime**, we examine the 911 call, disputed forensic evidence, conflicting accounts, courtroom developments, and the questions surrounding this controversial case.
