My First Backyard Ultra... Can I make it through the night? Krayzie's BYU.

After a couple of 'normal' ultras this year it was time to try a Backyard Ultra. The idea of these having no finish until I am completely stuffed has scared me, so it was time to put myself to the test and learn about myself. That 'learning' also happened to be mid-winter in freezing conditions. I also had to 'learn' how to manage an injury I picked up a couple of weeks prior to the event. This one was in my old hometown of Christchurch, New Zealand with the race called the Krayzie Mid-Winter Backyard Ultra. This event had a great vibe and was very well run by the organisers and the volunteers - thank you for an amazing experience, albeit an incredibly painful one.
