Fire the Idea Slowly Until It Holds · piano downtempo for evening work

A second take on the same idea, darker and more inward, where two muffled low notes repeat like footsteps in an empty hall. A round bass holds one note underneath, the beat is a quiet shaker and a soft scrape, and a long cello note hums far away. Once in a while a small wet squeeze cuts through the hush. Then, around the middle, a new note slips into the loop and the whole thing brightens without getting any faster. Halls and free-standing walls of charred black timber on a purple autumn heath at dusk, with gaps in the boards that widen until the buildings open onto the land.
