The Fleadh gave me the perfect reason to finally frame it in. I had the idea for a non-linear narrative film where different, unrelated stories sit side by side, connected only by place and time. Basically like a local newspaper - a snapshot of a place, often heart-breaking and hilarious. The Fleadh allowed me to weave these everyday moments and people into a film with an overarching event. After filming different bits of Mullingar for over 10 years, it felt like this was the right thing, at the right time and the right team to do it" "I collaborated with Ethan Scally, whose energy and love for Mullingar were essential, and Will Russell, who shared my passion and brought key musical connections.
