Homemade Tortilla Chips Ingredients: Whole wheat tortillas (feel free to change the type of tortilla you use to fit your tastes). You will need about 2 tortillas to fill one baking sheet. For Spicy Tortillas: Lime juice Spice Mix: 3 tbsp smoked paprika, 2 tbsp garlic powder, 1 tbsp black pepper, 1 tbsp onion powder, 1 tsp dried oregano, 1 tbsp cayenne pepper, 2 tsp dried thyme, 2 tsp dried basil, 1 tsp sea salt, crushed red pepper flakes (optional). Stir all of the spices together until everything is well and evenly combined. Store in an airtight container. For Sweet Tortillas: Maple syrup Cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin pie spice, and/or cloves. Use single spices or mix and match to create different flavors. Directions: 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. 2. Cut the tortillas into triangles using a pizza cutter (8 triangles per tortilla). 3. Place the tortilla slices in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. 4. For Spicy Tortillas, brush both sides of each triangle with lime juice. Sprinkle both sides of the tortilla with the spice mix. 5. For Sweet Tortillas, brush both sides of each triangle with maple syrup. Sprinkle both sides of each tortilla with spices of choice (cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin pie spice, cloves). 6. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until chips are golden and crisp. Check and watch them after 15 minutes because they can burn quickly. 7. Remove from the oven, cool and store in an airtight container. Enjoy!
