NBA Elite 11 was supposed to reinvent EA Sports basketball but instead, it became one of the most infamous cancelled sports games ever made. In this video, I finally play NBA Elite 11 to find out whether it was truly as broken as everyone remembers.
EA planned to replace the NBA Live series with NBA Elite, introducing a completely redesigned control system, new physics and a different approach to basketball gameplay. Unfortunately, the NBA Elite 11 demo became famous for awkward animations, unpredictable gameplay and the legendary Andrew Bynum “Jesus glitch,” ultimately contributing to the game being cancelled before its official release.
Years later, I’m revisiting this forgotten piece of basketball gaming history to experience the controls, animations, glitches and unfinished gameplay for myself. Was NBA Elite 11 really one of the worst basketball games ever created, or was there a decent game hidden underneath all the problems?
