The Hidden God

You could memorize every verse in Scripture and still not fully grasp who God is — and that's by design. In this devotion, we look at what it means that God has revealed Himself to us in His Word, and why so much about Him still remains hidden. Scripture wasn't given to answer every question we have. It was given to reveal the Savior: "these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name" (John 20:31). Where God has spoken clearly, He has spoken clearly about Jesus. But where He has chosen to stay silent, we're called to humility, not speculation. We'll look at Isaiah 45:15, 1 Corinthians 13:12, and Romans 11:33 — three passages that describe a God whose ways are "beyond tracing out" — and ask what it looks like to trust Him even in what we don't understand.
