Āwheo doesn't stay long at Plateau and heads back down the hill ! Ranger Sharyn DOC said : "He has been further down the hill. Feedings were not seen but it is possible that they occurred out of sight of the cam." "Āwheo has been mostly over the average weight frequently up to now. The chicks do lose weight prior to fledging and can lose interest in being fed by their parents as well. They are no longer growing as fast so their energy demands have decreased.
