Orthros & Divine Liturgy | Exaltation of the Holy Cross | St Joseph Melkite Greek Catholic Church

Join us for Orthros and the Divine Liturgy celebrated on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Saint Joseph Melkite Greek Catholic Church in Lansing, Michigan, with the Rt. Rev. Michael Skrocki, JCD, KHS. On this Sunday, the Church turns our hearts toward the Feast of the Exaltation of the Precious and Life Giving Cross, celebrated on September 14. The Cross stands at the center of the Christian mystery, revealing Christ's victory over sin and death and the saving love of God poured out for the world. The Church teaches us to approach the Cross with both joy and repentance. We rejoice because Christ accomplished our salvation through His Cross. At the same time, we are called to take up our own crosses and unite our lives, sacrifices, struggles, and repentance to the Cross of Christ. Through the prayers, hymns, Scripture readings, and Eucharistic celebration of the Divine Liturgy, we are reminded that the Cross is not a symbol of defeat. It is the sign of Christ's victory and the path by which we are led to resurrection and eternal life. As we prepare to celebrate this Great Feast, may we proclaim with the Church: "Glory to Your Precious Cross!" Recorded at: Saint Joseph Melkite Greek Catholic Church Lansing, Michigan Celebrant: Rt.
