Mozart’s Rondo alla Turca on grand piano: the original Turkish March, with all repeats and a live score that follows the performance. The familiar Turkish March is the finale of Mozart’s Piano Sonata K. 331. The sonata was first published by Artaria in 1784; its exact date of composition remains uncertain. The alla turca fashion brought an imagined military brilliance to Viennese music. Here that colour comes entirely from the piano: clipped bass notes, quick ornaments and the contrast between the A-minor opening and a bright A-major march. Original solo-piano music, including repeats. Score: Mutopia Project, engraving by Rune Zedeler and Chris Sawer, Public Domain. Lee, Applied Psychoacoustics Lab, University of Huddersfield (CC BY 4.0), converted to stereo Our vision & contribution Let the familiar melody reveal its details: the two piano staves stay visible while the music moves between lightness, quick motion and ceremonial weight. Score: imported the two piano staves from the public-domain Mutopia edition and checked all 2,810 performed note attacks, including repeats, against an independently expanded score export. Removed one hidden layout-only MIDI note and restored three grace notes to their proper ending; Mozart’s music is not our composition. Performance: chose the tempo, articulation and dynamic shaping, programmed the piano performance, and added small timing and touch variations. Sound: produced and mastered this recording using licensed piano samples and a recorded hall impulse response; we did not record those source samples or the hall ourselves.
