Open Hands

“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” — Matthew 6:21, KJV Greed promises security through having more, yet it keeps moving the finish line. Christ invites us to place our trust in the Father and let love shape what we do with what we have. Generosity loosens greed’s grip through concrete choices: meeting a need quietly, paying what we owe honestly, and sharing without expecting praise or repayment. We can feel the temptation to hold tightly and still choose to open our hands. Today, consider one resource God has entrusted to you—money, time, or a place at your table—and use it to make His love tangible to someone else. Father, free my heart from the fear of never having enough. Teach me contentment, honesty, and cheerful generosity. Help me notice someone’s need today and respond with the love You have shown me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
