Ever since I started playing the shakuhachi, I've wanted to be able to play "Shika no Toone" (Distant Sound of a Deer) and "Tsuru no Sugomori" (Crane's Nest). When I went to Nara Park around October, I heard deer calling. It was the first time I'd heard the real thing, and I was deeply moved.
