The main plot starts with Shi Qing and Min Rou, the "Black and White Swords" of Xuan Su Zhuang, sending their son Shi Zhongyu to learn martial arts from the Snowy Mountain Sect. Shi Zhongyu proves to be cunning and lascivious; he creates chaos, and ends up being hunted down by the Snowy Mountain Sect. At this point in the plot a young man named Shi Potian appears who is the spitting image of Shi Zhongyu. It turns out that he has been deliberately transfigured to act as a cover for Shi Zhongyu, and this creates a series of complications and enmities within the martial arts world. The selected members of the martial arts community are forced to travel to Gallantry Island, where the virtuous will be rewarded and the wicked punished.
