DK Shivakumar on Belagavi Farmers Meeting | ಬೆಳಗಾವಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂದು ಸಿಎಂ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೀಟಿಂಗ್

DK Shivakumar faces a crucial political and administrative challenge as the sugarcane farmers’ protest in Belagavi reaches a decisive stage. A high-level meeting led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is scheduled at Suvarna Soudha in Belagavi, where the farmers’ two major demands are expected to take centre stage. The Belagavi sugarcane farmers’ protest has intensified, with farmers seeking concrete decisions to address their long-standing concerns. The key question is whether the government will announce relief and measures to protect farmers during today’s crucial meeting. *The two major demands of sugarcane farmers:* 1. ₹1,000 incentive per tonne of sugarcane to provide financial relief to farmers. 2. ₹500 crore allocation for installing weighing machines to prevent alleged weight manipulation and ensure transparency in sugarcane procurement. The Belagavi high-level meeting is an important moment for the state government and sugarcane growers. Farmers want clear assurances and action on both demands. The outcome of the meeting could influence the next phase of the ongoing agitation. Will DK Shivakumar and the state government fulfil the two demands? Will the Belagavi sugarcane farmers’ protest reach a resolution?
