Flight 19 is the most famous disappearance in Bermuda Triangle history. On December 5, 1945, five U.S. Navy TBM Avenger bombers took off from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on a routine training flight. Hours later, their leader radioed that both his compasses had failed. Then the fourteen men of Flight 19 vanished over the Atlantic, and the rescue plane sent to find them, with thirteen more men aboard, disappeared too. In this episode we follow the flight minute by minute through the original radio transmissions, the largest search the Navy had ever seen, the Navy's controversial verdict, and how one magazine article turned a tragedy into the legend of the Bermuda Triangle.
