We Finally Found Out Why… My Husband Wouldn't Stop Coughing.

I’m a 42-year-old Japanese woman living in Tokyo with my American husband. Since moving to Japan last summer, my husband has gotten sick several times. In this video, I’m sharing our experience of dealing with a cough that lasted for more than two months, and all the different things we tried while looking for the cause. First, he went to the doctor regularly and took medication for about two months. Then we bought a high-performance air purifier, tried to reduce the formaldehyde level in our home, and cleaned the air conditioner ourselves. But the cough still didn’t stop, so we hired a professional to deep-clean the air conditioner fan with high-pressure washing. We also cleaned the apartment thoroughly and tried to create an environment with as little dust as possible. When that still didn’t help, he finally went to a respiratory clinic and was prescribed an inhaler for asthma. After testing, he was diagnosed with asthma.
