Prospects for European energy markets in the second half - 2025. Renewable energy, PPA and batteries

This webinar will feature speakers from Engie Spain, who will participate for the seventh time in the series of monthly webinars organised by AleaSoft Energy Forecasting. The session will address growth opportunities for the renewable sector and current affairs of the PPA market in Spain in a context marked by increasing renewable energy penetration, market price volatility and the fear of increasing cannibalisation of prices captured by renewable energies. The prospects for energy storage in batteries, an increasingly important element on the road to a more flexible, resilient and decarbonised electricity system, will also be discussed. Within this framework, the IDAE’s 700 million euro call for aid will be addressed, aimed at energy storage projects with stand‑alone batteries, thermal storage or reversible pumped storage, as well as projects hybridised with renewable energy generation. The call will remain open until July 15.
