The Running Of The Goats 2026

Every summer, the City Of Half Moon Bay and Coastside Land Trust partner to bring a herd of goats from Star Creek Land Stewards to clear vegetation and reduce fire danger in our neighborhood. The goats begin their work on the site of the old landfill on the Poplar Bluffs. After a week or two, they are herded up Poplar Street to start the second part of their work along the old railroad right of way. We locals have named this “The Running Of The Goats”. I try to capture the spectacle as best I can for those who aren’t able to see it themselves. This year I was assisted by my neighbor Chris, and my friend Jan also helped by loaning me his drone. So by the time the goats started moving, I had 4 cameras rolling (2 in the air!), plus Chris’s drone. Enjoy this year’s video!
