If your body feels tense, stressed, or overwhelmed, this 20-minute progressive muscle relaxation (PMR) guided meditation is a simple way to help you slow down, release physical tension, and relax your nervous system.
In this guided progressive muscle relaxation for sleep and stress relief, I’ll walk with you step-by-step through a full head-to-toe body relaxation exercise, gently tightening and releasing different muscle groups while slowing your breathing and giving your mind and body time to rest.
There’s nothing you need to achieve here. You don’t need to clear your mind, “do it right,” or force relaxation. Just get comfortable, close your eyes if you want, and follow along.
During this 20-minute body scan and muscle relaxation session, we’ll move through:
• Face, jaw, and tongue tension relief
• Neck and shoulder relaxation for stress and anxiety
• Hands, arms, and upper body release
• Chest and stomach breathing relaxation
• Back, hips, and lower body tension release
• Legs, feet, and toes progressive relaxation
• A few quiet minutes of deep rest and stillness
This guided PMR meditation for anxiety, stress relief, and sleep can be used anytime you need to unwind, reset after a long day, or prepare your body for rest.
Use this session whenever you want a quick stress relief practice, bedtime relaxation routine, or anxiety calming exercise to help you feel more grounded and at ease.
🎧 Headphones are optional but recommended for immersion
